Patients who don’t have resident status or are unemployed can take any test. Natera in hand, with the clinic, may offer a $0.00 rate. Usually, there’s a “No Proof of Income Form” attached to the requisition form in LIMS. If no form was attached but the patient mentions No Proof of Income, follow this process.
If you find a letter stating the patient has No Proof of Income or if the patient mentions “I have no proof of income,” this doesn’t automatically mean you should not charge or try to collect payment. You should still aim to collect at least $99. Unless there’s a specific note on the form indicating the amount should be $0, or the patient confirms they were told no payment is required due to no proof of income, send a ZBAL through Syncro CRM to get the account balance removed.
If no letter or form is attached and patients don’t mention “No proof of income,” follow the Walkdown as usual. However, if patients say they have no job and no insurance plan, ask the patient to email [email protected] and explain why they can’t provide Proof of Income.
Note: We can honor the price even if we have a different form as long as it has the same information as the form below.
