General Overview

Natera’s Compassionate Care Program is a financial assistance program that reduces a patient’s responsibility to $149, $99, or $0 per test due to a patient experiencing financial hardship.
Patients’ eligibility for the program is based on the U.S. Federal Poverty guidelines published by the Department of Health and Human Services; the
reduced rates for a patient’s responsibility are evaluated based on household size
and annual household income.

All of the Natera’s test types are eligible for the Compassionate Care program except the following:
Spectrum
Panorama Supplemental(CA PNS)
Altera Stage 1 and 2

Application Requirements and Methods

Only one proof of income document is required to apply for the Compassionate Care Program.
Acceptable proof of income document:
Recent W2 Form
Current Income Tax Return Form
Recent Pay Stub from the past 30 days
Participation in federal or state assistance programs
Patients can submit their Compassionate Care application via any of the following methods:
-SMS to 636363 with the word “Compassion”
-Compassionate Care Portal https://compassion.natera.com
-Fax: 650-412-0834

It is preferred that patients submit their application via the Compassionate Care portal for a faster turnaround time. The turnaround time for fax submission and mailing their application is 3-5 business days and 30-60 days, respectively, with potential delays.

If patients do not have proof of income or the required documents to verify their income, they may write a letter explaining the reason, take a picture of it, and upload it to their online application.

Applications are valid for 18 months from the date of approval. Patients must resubmit another application after 18 months.

Eligibility

Pre-qualify via Syncro CRM by submitting the “total members of the household” and “annual income”, We should ask for household income to calculate if they qualify, however, for proof of income we will accept 1 document (either the patients or their spouses)
If the patient is eligible, they can continue their application.

1. Click the Compassionate Care button
2. Enter the patient’s annual income and members of the household (Including unborn children)
3. Click the “Calculate” button
4. Pre-qualify them through Syncro CRM

If the patient is deemed ineligible, please transfer to Natera Escalations.

Application Submission Process

After the application has been reviewed they will be notified if they have been formally approved for the financial assistance program.
Turnaround time for a patient’s application to be reviewed and processed is 3 to 5 business days.

If patients have questions about their Compassionate Care application, please ask probing questions to understand their specific needs. Reach out to your CSS for support. However, if the patient insists, you can transfer them to (650) 263-2960.
